Bangle Bracelets Crochet pattern
I love crochet jewelry and lately I have been tossing some ideas around in my head that I hope I can create some time soon. Crochet jewelry is cute and usually takes small amounts of yarn and are quick projects because to they are small.
These bangles have been on my to do list ever since I bought a pack of plain plastic bangle bracelets. The pattern I chose was an easy, lacy stitch pattern, because I wanted them to be finished quickly and I wanted to play around with the idea first. Now I want to make more and next time I want to make the pattern more complicated and possibly use an even lighter weight yarn. I guess that’s another project to add to my never ending list.
This bangles are really quick to make and perfect for scrap yarn, which makes them great last minute gifts. Make sure you check that the bangles are the right size for the person you are making them for, though. The ones I bought did not have a size on the packaging for some reason, but luckily they fit my daughter. However, they do not fit me very well. They are hard to get over my hands. My bangles measured 8 ½ inches around.
I chose Madelinetosh TML + Holo Glitter because Madelinetosh is my favorite brand in general, and I needed light weight yarn. I also,love the sparkle this base has, and thought it would great with crocheted jewelry. You could really sub out any weight yarn as long as you adjust to get guauge.But, I personally love how the lace weight shows off the stitch pattern.
PATTERN NOTES
This pattern is worked flat as a strip and then seamed around the bangle.There are 2 widths of bangles: small (3/4 in.) and big (1 ½ in). The big size will be in parentheses. You can adjust these to match any size width by starting with a multiple of 2. You can also adjust the length by working the strip until it measures ½ an inch smaller than your bangle.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
5 mm hook (I used the purple Furls Odyssey[affiliate link)
1 skein, Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light + Holo Glitter in Purple Rain(affiliate)
Or
40 to 80 yards of lace weight yarn
Plastic or wood bangles, whatever size needed to fit your wrist in 2 widths: 1 ½ inches and ¾ inch
Scissors
Needle
STITCHES USED:
Ch= chain
Sc = single crochet
GUAGE:
2 inches= 3 sc, ch 3 across
2 inches= 5 rows in stitch pattern
Size:
Teen -Adult, but adjustable to the bangle size
PATTERN:
Row 1:Ch 8 (14). SC in 4th chain from hook. Ch 3, sk 1, sc across, ending with a sc in last ch.Turn.
Row 2. Ch 3, sc in 1st ch-3 sp,ch 3, sc in ch-3 sp, ch3. Repeat from across ending with a sc in last ch-3 sp.Turn.
Row 3. Repeat row 2 until strip measures ½ an inch less than the bangles circumference.
Fasten off.
Wrap piece around bangle and seam all the way up the edge. Then seam the two ends together. Fasten off and weave all ends in.
